Julia Barnes, is a cultural anthropologist and current Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the National Science Foundation. Her research focuses on the intersection of forensic anthropology, bioarchaeology, and cultural anthropology, with an emphasis on human rights violations and ethical fieldwork.
She has conducted fieldwork across Slovenia, Colombia, and Cameroon, contributing to forensic investigations, genocide documentation, and community-centered anthropological practices.
Dr. Barnes has published in peer-reviewed journals and has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in anthropology and interdisciplinary studies.
