Martine Miller

President & CEO, Interim

Martine Miller is a mediator and conflict transformation specialist with over 20 years of hands-on experience working alongside communities, governments, regional organizations like the EU, AU, and ASEAN, UN agencies, and a variety of non-governmental organizations and academic institutions. Her work has taken her to war and post-war reconstruction settings in 70 countries across Africa, Asia & the Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

Martine holds a Master’s in International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law, a Master’s in Politics, Post-war Reconstruction, and Development, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Development. She has also pursued specialized certifications in Mediation and Negotiation in War Contexts, Religion and Mediation, Conflict Transformation, and more. Her passion for fostering peace is further enhanced by her studies at Harvard University’s Program on Negotiation and the International Committee for the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC).

In addition to her global work, Martine shares her knowledge as a guest lecturer at Georgetown University and American University and as a lecturer and program advisor for the Peace and Conflict Studies Center at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She is also Vice-Chairperson of the Board for the Al Amana Centre.

When she’s not traveling the world or teaching, Martine volunteers as an EMT in her local community. She lives in Virginia with her husband, two kids, and a small farm of animal friends.
